Etiquette

A webblog - more well know as a blog - is a communication tool that allows for anyone with access to the blog to contribute to the discussion. While our class blog is open to the public I have the ability to approve or deny any comments that are made. For privacy reasons, please only use your or others' first name (last initial is only needed if you are one of a few in the class with the same name).

A post is a main point of discussion. All posts must have titles. I will instruct on on what to title each one if it is an assignment, but if it is your own post then please title it with a few word phrase that describes the topic.

A comment is a response to a post or comment of someone else's. Comments are to specifically refer to the piece of writing that comes before it. If it is about a new topic then you should be creating a post instead.

All posts and comments are published statements that anyone can read. For this reason, please keep the following things in mind:

*When giving suggestions or making comments in general give constructive criticism. No one appreciates rude or mean comments. Not to mention these things will most likely not be posted and a grade not issued.

*Be appropriate at all times. Remember, your name is connected to all comments made and, while I can deny them, it still does not look good on your character.

*Always write in complete sentences (unless otherwise noted) paying attention to spelling and grammar. Blogs are published sites. Poorly written material will be allowed through on my end but it will not necessarily make you look good. Proof read!

This is an experimental blog. This is the first one I have implemented with a class so we will be learning together. You do not have to wait until an assignment is posted to post or make a comment. This is your site, you can post about anything math or class related, whether it be a question on the homework that you are looking for a classmate to answer or just finding out what everyone thought about the lesson that day. You can even post a webpage or video that you thought was helpful. Many job sites and colleges are using these as communication devices so the more experience you have with them the better off you will be.

Happy blogging!
